The Lens of Impressionism: Photography and Painting along the Normandy Coast, 1850-1874

Manet Beach

Heather MacDonald will speak on the exhibition The Lens of Impressionism, on view at the Dallas Museum of Art from February 21 to May 23, 2010. Ms. MacDonald is the curator for the DMA venue of this fascinating exhibition, which is an exploration of Impressionist painting's response to early photography within the context of a specific geographic locale, the coast of Normandy. Ms. MacDonald is the Lillian and James H. Clark Associate Curator of European Art.

The Architecture of Charles Dilbeck

Willis Winters, FAIA will lecture on The Architecture of Charles Dilbeck. Mr. Winters, Assistant Director of the Dallas Parks and Recreation Department, is a respected architectural historian and has published extensively on Dallas architecture. He is currently working on a book featuring Charles Dilbeck. Dilbeck, often described as a romantic or eccentric architect, designed numerous outstanding homes in Oak Cliff and Dallas, as well as the Belmont Hotel.
