Rising Stars Exhibition Opening

Come meet 18 rising stars in the Dallas art scene at the 12th annual Rising Stars exhibition opening and fundraiser hosted by the Oak Cliff Society of Fine Arts at the Turner House.

This year’s exhibition will include unique works from 18 DFW artists who are not represented by an art gallery, as nominated by prior rising stars. The Rising Stars exhibition offers a unique opportunity for these artists to sell their works to attendees and get exposure to gallery owners who often attend this renowned event.

Join us on Sept. 20 at the exhibition opening and you’ll have an opportunity to meet the artists, have first blush at purchasing an original work, and hear brief remarks from guest speaker Martine Elyse Philippe, the director of the City of Dallas Office of Arts and Culture. There will also be a free public viewing of the exhibition the following day, Sept. 21, from 1 – 5 p.m.

The Rising Stars exhibition is the premier annual fundraiser for the Oak Cliff Society of Fine Arts, whose mission is to promote art and culture, including the renovation of the Turner House — the historic home and art museum hosting this event. Proceeds from ticket sales and the cash bar will go to support the OCSFA’s mission and fund the purchase prize for this event — a high honor for the selected artist. Proceeds from art sales will go to the artists, with a small portion contributed to the OCSFA.

The 2025 artists featured are:

  • Taylor Knight-Turner

  • Hector Ramirez

  • Laert Aleksi Xhaferi

October Salon - Historic Homes, Contemporary Interiors

The craftsmanship and charm of turn-of-the-century structures have long enchanted homeowners in Oak Cliff and across Dallas, leading to thriving historic and conservation districts throughout the city. Each historic homeowner faces the same challenge: how to honor the timeless architectural character of their house while creating contemporary living spaces fit for today’s residents. On this exclusive panel, renowned area interior designers Alejandro Gonzalez of Tlazo Home, Bill Cates of Peters-Cates Design, Jeff McKnight of Jeffrey Dean McKnight Interior Design, Jen Stevens of Fonde Interiors, and Joshua Pickering of Pickering House Interiors will share stunning images and insider secrets from their best projects, spanning everything from choosing paint colors, to selecting furnishings, architectural restoration, and even answering audience questions. Peggy Levinson, former showroom owner and editor-at-large at D Home magazine, will thoughtfully moderate the conversation.

Doors open at 7 p.m., with programming starting at 7:30. Refreshments will be provided.
